Fire has fascinated people since ancient times. It is vivid and comforting. Who doesn?t dream about escaping while comfortably seated in an armchair, next to a crackling fire, with an excellent glass of wine?  Fire is, however, a difficult element to tame. Incorrectly used, it can be extremely harmful to the environment. Flying sparks and falling logs could cause a fire, or the heat is so poorly directed that the warmth just disappears up the chimney. Together with the prominent and independent TNO (Environment, Energy and Innovative Development) Eurovlam has developed a wood burning stove which not only goes beyond today?s strict standards but also offers an appliance which allows you to control the fire: utilising the ancient element and magically transforming it into environmental heating. On January 1, 1997 Dutch authorities introduced regulations, with regard to the environment. The product label of the association VHR (Vereniging Haard en Rookkannaal / Society for Hearths and Chimneys), indicates that the regulations are adhered to and the product is designed for European legislation. TNO has calculated that an average of 2.5 Kg of wood per our is sufficient. According to its specific gravity, this weight corresponds to a 32 cm long piece of wood with a diameter of 12 cm. Each year tons of residual wood from our forests and , for instance, the furniture industry, is wasted. A Eurovlam stove allows you to use this plentiful energy source, resulting in a considerable reduction in gas or electricity consumption.
